Who's writing this — and why there's no photo
Hi. I'm Shash. I run Infinfy Solutions out of Vancouver — a small AI-powered web agency. This site is mine. I write everything on it.
I'm not putting my face on this page. I'm not a marketing person. I never wanted to be a marketing person. Honestly the whole "founder personal brand" thing rubs me the wrong way — I've watched people build entire careers off social proof theater and I don't want any part of that game.
So here's the deal instead. No headshot. No "10 years of certified content marketing experience." No "trusted by thousands." Just me, telling you what I actually use.
A short version of how I got here
Background: IT since I was twelve. First computer in 1997. I've always been the guy in the family who fixed the printer, the guy at work who got the weird software working. That's been my whole life basically.
In 2015 I went back to Sri Lanka — that's where I'm from — and opened a vegan restaurant. I had money at that point, I was passionate about it, I went all in. Then COVID happened. Then the Easter bombings happened. I trusted a landlord I shouldn't have. I lost almost $200,000 Canadian. I came back to Canada with nothing.
That hurt. I'm not going to dress it up. But the thing about losing everything is it teaches you what you actually want to do with your time. For me that turned out to be this — the AI stuff. When ChatGPT first came out I was already obsessed, and it kept getting better, and at some point I realized: I don't have to learn this whole thing from scratch. I can build with it. I can ask AI to do things and it will just do them. That was the moment I knew I'd found my calling. I haven't deviated since.
Why I'm writing about AI tools
Because I use them. Every single day. On real client websites, on real client content, on real client video projects. When I review a tool here it's because I put it on my credit card and tried it. Not because someone DM'd me about a 30% commission.
And because I see a lot of garbage out there. The AI tool affiliate space right now is mostly thin AI-generated reviews of AI tools — written by AI, ranking AI tools, recommending AI tools. The whole thing eats itself. It's hard to find anyone honestly saying "yeah I used this, it's not great" or "the free plan is actually fine, you don't have to pay."
That's the gap I'm trying to fill. Probably badly at first. We'll see.
A few things you should know about me
- I'm bad at lying. If I don't know something, I'll tell you I don't know. Same goes for tools — if I haven't actually used one, I won't pretend I have.
- I will tell you when not to buy something. The free plan is fine 80% of the time. I'll say so.
- "We" doesn't mean a team of twenty. It means me and my wife and occasionally a contractor. The AI does the rest. I'm not going to exaggerate the size of the operation.
- If I link to a tool and earn a commission, that's disclosed clearly — both in the banner at the top and in the affiliate disclosure. The link existing doesn't change my opinion of the tool. CapCut is on the recommended list and I get zero dollars from CapCut. Some tools with higher commissions didn't make the list at all.
If you want to actually talk
The fastest way is through Infinfy Solutions — that's where I do client work and where I'm most reachable. If you have feedback on something I got wrong on this site, email me there and I'll fix it. I prefer being told I'm wrong over finding out later.
Otherwise — go take the quiz, read the reviews, come back when you've used a tool for a month and tell me whether I gave you good advice or not. That's the whole point.
